	March 2007
	Vallejos & Morales, P.C. opens its first office in Hoboken, New Jersey. Andrew B. Vallejos, a former Prosecutor with the City of Newark, joins Peter J. Morales, a former Associate with the Law Firm of Nemergut & Duff and former Law Clerk to the Honorable Jamie D. Happas, J.S.C. to form the firm. Both attorneys are graduates from Rutgers University, School of Law - Camden. The firm's primary areas of practice are Divorce (Family Law), Worker's Compensation, Personal Injury, Real Estate and Immigration.

	August 2007
	The firm expands its areas of practice to include Bankruptcy, Social Security Disability, Discrimination, Expungements, Adoptions, Business Formation, Name Changes, Wills and Estates.

Personal Injury law in New Jersey

Our attorneys have represented individuals who have been injured in serious automobile accidents, such as truck accidents, bus accidents and overturned vehicle accidents.

If you are involved in any type of accident, the very first thing you should do, if possible, is get help for yourself and anyone else that is injured. Next, you should call the police. The police officer that arrives at the scene will take statements from all persons involved and witnesses and prepare what is called a “police report” a few days following that accident. An accurate “police report” is important because it is the first document that attempts to assign “fault” to the accident. Don’t make any statements to anyone other than the police officer at the scene of the accident. If the other driver(s) make any statements, such as “I’m sorry” or “I didn’t see you,” make a note of those statements because they may become admissible at time of Trial as an “admission of fault” which is excluded from the Court Rule prohibiting hearsay. Write down the names and number of witnesses (or at the very least their license plate numbers) at the scene of the accident so that our investigators may contact them following the accident. Our investigators will evaluate the accident scene and we shall advise us whether you have a valid cause of action for personal injuires. Following the accident, it is important you seek medical treatment as soon as practically possible in your situation. If you are injured and were not treated in an emergency room, do not wait more than a few days to seek medical treatment for your injuries. One of the first of many factors reviewed by an insurance carrier is how much time elapsed between the date of the accident and date of first treatment. If you did not seek treatment right away, the insurance carrier will argue that your injuries were not serious as evidenced by you not seeking immediate medical treatment. It is also important that following an accident, you contact our office for further legal advice. We do not get paid unless you do!
