	March 2007
	Vallejos & Morales, P.C. opens its first office in Hoboken, New Jersey. Andrew B. Vallejos, a former Prosecutor with the City of Newark, joins Peter J. Morales, a former Associate with the Law Firm of Nemergut & Duff and former Law Clerk to the Honorable Jamie D. Happas, J.S.C. to form the firm. Both attorneys are graduates from Rutgers University, School of Law - Camden. The firm's primary areas of practice are Divorce (Family Law), Worker's Compensation, Personal Injury, Real Estate and Immigration.

	August 2007
	The firm expands its areas of practice to include Bankruptcy, Social Security Disability, Discrimination, Expungements, Adoptions, Business Formation, Name Changes, Wills and Estates.

	January 2010

	Andrew B. Vallejos, Esq. returns as part-time Municipal Court Prosecutor with the City of Newark.

Criminal

The Superior Court of New Jersey has jurisdiction over Indictable Offenses committed within our State. Indictable Offenses are what is more commonly known as "Felonies". Indictable Offenses carry varying degrees depending on the severity of the offense (First Degree, Second Degree, Third Degree, and Fourth Degree). Each degree carries with it a certain State prison sentence which is found within the Sentencing Guidelines. For example, a First Degree offense typically carries a 10 to 20 year sentence, Second Degree carries a 5 to 10 year sentence, Third Degree carries a 3 to 5 year sentence and Fourth Degree carries a sentence of up to 18 months. Certain offenders with prior criminal records are also subject to mandatory sentencing enhancements subjecting them to even longer sentencing.

Our office has represented individuals facing significant State prison time for varying criminal offenses. For example, our office represented an individual facing a First Degree Kidnapping Charge and Second Degree Aggravated Assault with enhancements exposing our client to a possible State prison sentence of up to 55 years. In that particular case, after several Motions and Status Conferences, our aggressive and diligent representation of this individual resulted in a sentence of only "time served".
